Management of Conflict of Interest

NGOs have to handle Government subvention and public donation in their daily operations, and are obliged to manage these resources prudently.  Conflict of interest may arise if the private interests of board or staff members are taken into account when making decision on the use of resources.  It will have adverse impact on the organization’s reputation, and may even amount to a breach of law.

In order to enhance the sensitivity of NGOs about conflict of interests, the Council and ICAC jointly publish the pamphlet “Tips for NGOs – Management of Conflict of Interest” which provides a concise explanation on conflict of interest and suggests preventive measures for NGOs’ reference.
