Learning Platform on NGO Governance and Management:
Seminar & Sharing Session on Crisis Management for NGOs’ Governing Bodies was held with success on 1 March 2024.

The NGOs’ governing bodies including board members and senior management are the key stakeholders of governance and accountability of organizations. They have the responsibility over the whole range of powers, and should equip themselves with the skills of crisis management to handle crisis not only properly, but also in an effective and smart way. To raise the crisis sensitivity and facilitate the exchange amongst the governing bodies of NGOs, the Council has tailor-made a seminar and sharing session for participants as below:

Highlights of the Seminar:
- Prepare the step-by-step approach to crisis management: the CDE approach (Content, Delivery mode and Environment selection)
- Classify different stakeholders
- Explain proper positioning

Highlights of the Sharing Session:
- Exchange the experience of crisis management
- Simulated Scenario Study

    Dr. Li Chan Wing, a media veteran, prominent commentator, and experienced trainer, delivered an engaging seminar on crisis management for NGOs' governing bodies.  
         
    Dr. Li’s interactive approach encouraged active participation among the attendees.  
         
   

Around 80 representatives from different NGOs actively attended the event and were divided into groups for in-depth discussions.

 
         
    Attendees enthusiastically participated in group exercises, applying the crisis management techniques shared by Dr. Li.  
         
    Dr. Li actively participated in group discussions, lending his expertise and guidance to each individual group.  
         
   

The atmosphere was filled with collaborative energy as attendees exchanged valuable insights, fostering a collective learning experience.

 
         
    The discussion was conducted in stages.  
         
    Attendees actively employed the Five W's and H method to analyze and delve into the case studies presented.  
         
   

Another dedicated group earnestly worked on their assigned case.

 
         
    Attendees expressed their satisfaction with the new approach of group discussion, reflecting their positive knowledge sharing experience.  
         
    Attendees highlighted what they had learned and gained from the experience.
