Event Date

Learning Platform on NGO Governance and Management:
Board Networking Visitation - Hong Kong Federation of Handicapped Youth was held on 16 July 2024.

To foster a comprehensive network among NGOs’ boards and management, the Council visited Hong Kong Federation of Handicapped Youth (HKFHY). The purpose of this visit was to share insights and gain a deeper understanding of the governance challenges faced by the HKFHY encounters.

Established in 1970, HKFHY is a self-help organization that primarily serves individuals with physically disabilities. It’s mission is to strengthen the confidence and social networks of disabled while enhancing their job skills and employment opportunities.

During the visit, both the Council and HKFHY engaged in a rich exchange of experiences. The Council shared best practices in governance and risk control, which are crucial for the effective operation of NGOs. In return, HKFHY provided valuable insights into the unique challenges and solutions they have developed to support individuals with disabilities.
