The 9th NGO Directors’ Luncheon

Event Date

The series of NGO Directors’ Luncheon cum Sharing Session with Assistant Director of Social Welfare Department consisted of four different events focusing on elderly, youth and corrections, rehabilitation and medical social services, as well as family and child welfare services. The second event on youth and corrections services was held on 29 November 2018. Below are some selected photos of the event. You may want to check out the full collection of photos here.

Mr Kennedy Liu, Executive Committee Member and Chairperson of the Steering Committee on NGO Governance Platform Project, HKCSS welcomed guests and speakers. He pointed out that NGOs have various background and culture and encouraged agency representatives to share their experience on governance.

Mrs Helen Kwok, Assistant Director (Youth and Corrections), Social Welfare Department agreed that NGOs help fill the social service gap. She expected to exchange with agency representatives on the strategies and initiatives relating to youth services.

Mr Richard Tse, Chairman of Community Services Working Group, Hong Kong Institute of CPAs, said that in view of the public attention to the NGOs’ proper use of social resources, the Institute is determined to provided support to NGOs on financial governance through the Council.

She also invited NGOs to actively participate in the planning and strategic work in different districts with SWD in the future.
