The 7th NGO Directors’ Luncheon

The seventh NGO Directors’ Luncheon was held on 11 July 2018 with Mr David Sun, Director of Audit, Audit Commission as guest speaker to share on “NGO Governance and Public Trust”.  Below are some selected photos of the event. You may want to check out the full collection of photos here.

The luncheon series is sponsored by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants Charitable Fund.

Mr David Sun, Director of Audit, Audit Commission spoke on the topic of “NGO Governance and Public Trust”. He pointed out that NGOs played an important role in the policy implementation and contributed to the achievement of Hong Kong and shared the work of Audit Commission.   Mr David Sun, Director of Audit, pointed out that NGOs have contributed to the policy implementation and social development of Hong Kong and shared the work of Audit Commission. He stressed that upholding good governance is important for NGOs to gain public trust.
     
Mr Kennedy Liu, Vice-Chairperson, HKCSS welcomed guests and the speaker. He emphasized that the Council had been putting efforts into promoting good governance culture in the sector and supporting agencies to have good governance practices so as to gain public trust.

Mr Alex Wong, Assistant Director (Subventions), Social Welfare Department, mentioned that the public expectation on the governance and financial management of NGOs had been increasing and NGOs were encouraged to exchange experience on good governance.

Mr Eric Tong, President, Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) said that the Institute was dedicated to support NGOs with professional accounting and financial advice and help them enhance their governance..
