The Companies (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance 2018 (the Amendment Ordinance) has commenced operation on 1 February 2019. One of the amendments is to expand the qualifying criteria for “reporting exemption”.
In fact, a company’s directors must prepare for each financial year audited financial statements that conform to the requirements of the Companies Ordinance. To facilitate the compliance of concerned agency members and update on the latest amendments, we have invited representatives of the Companies Registry to speak in a seminar to explain the obligations of company directors in preparing and publication of financial statements and directors’ reports as well as provision of the company’s information to public. The speakers will also clarify the requirements for proper disclosure of a company’s name and liability status at its office, business venue, and on communication documents, transaction instruments and website.
