Directors of Self-help Organizations’ Network II

Following the success of Directors of Self-help Organizations’ Network I, a second Network (Network II) has commenced in September 2017. It provides a platform for solution-focused sharing and networking on governance issues, encouraging the co-creation of governance practices by board members of local self-help organizations.

The Network consists of six workshops, with the below themes:

20/09/2017 Roles, liabilities and ethics of the Board members

22/11/2017 Board composition and succession, Division of work (between staff and Board members and among Board members)

20/12/2017 Effective meeting, boardroom conducts and conflict management

17/01/2018 The Board’s role in fundraising & financial sustainability

28/02/2018 Branding & strategic planning

21/03/2018 Risk oversight

30 board members from 12 self-help organizations have joined Directors of Self-help Organizations’ Network II. Dr Chan Yu (left), Deputy Programme Director, Master of Social Sciences in Nonprofit Management, HKU is the Network’s facilitator. She is also the Associate Director of HKU-HKJC ExCEL3 Project.
